An in-home consultation.
A focused conversation about your home, priorities, aesthetic, budget, and timeline.
Initial consultation
We meet at your home to discuss your goals, scope, aesthetic, priorities, budget, and timeline. This two-hour meeting is $500 and gives us a shared understanding of the project.
To move forward, we outline the proposed scope and design investment in a project-specific proposal. After proposal acceptance, a signed design agreement, and the initial payment, we schedule the project kickoff.
Project kickoff & documentation
We measure and 3D scan the spaces, verify conditions in the field, photograph and document the home, and create existing floor plans and a digital model.
We review a project planning package together to confirm the scope, goals, budget framework, timeline, and design direction before design development begins. Furnishings and construction budgets are planning estimates that may evolve as the design and scope are finalized.
Design development
We develop the design across space planning, furniture layouts, millwork concepts, lighting, paint, wallpaper, finishes, window treatments, rugs, furniture, artwork, and accessories.
Design presentation
We present one thoughtfully developed, coordinated design direction, with selections curated around the goals established during planning. Layouts, samples and materials, and furniture and fixture selections show how the individual decisions work together.
Design revisions & approval
We refine the presented design, finalize selections and layouts, and obtain your approval before purchasing begins.
Your proposal defines the included revision allowance. Additional revisions or significant changes to the agreed design direction may affect design fees and the project schedule.
Specifications & documentation
We bring the approved layouts and selections together in a coordinated design package: drawings, schedules, specifications, dimensions, finish information, and installation details. This becomes the reference for procurement and implementation.
Professional design fees cover planning, creative development, and documentation. Furnishings and construction are separate investments, with the scope and payment terms set out in your project agreements.
Procurement
We quote products, prepare proposals and invoices, place orders, communicate with vendors, track orders, and coordinate freight and receiving. We also arrange product inspection and handle damages, replacements, and warranty issues.
Our product pricing includes the professional work of sourcing, purchasing, coordinating, and supporting those products through installation. Shipping, receiving, delivery, installation, and third-party contractor services are itemized separately.
Project management & trade coordination
We coordinate with your contractor and design-related trades, including painters, wallpaper installers, tile installers, electricians, millworkers, window-treatment workrooms, and flooring installers. We answer questions, conduct site visits, provide project updates, and check that the design is being executed correctly.
Delivery & installation coordination
We coordinate the receiver, deliveries, installers, furniture placement, window treatments, artwork and mirrors, rugs, accessories, and other installations.
Styling & project completion
We complete the final styling and accessory placement, work through the punch list and any remaining issues, and finish with a client walkthrough.
